Who we are.

Dermatological is a coed organization that serves campuses and communities across the United States. We are dedicated to promoting skin health, hygiene, and awareness of skin disorders. With a culture of diversity and inclusion, our chapter at Texas A&M University is working to educate fellow Aggies and the Bryan-College Station community.

The mission of Dermatological TAMU is to provide a platform for Aggies interested in dermatology to connect and address the critical issue of health literacy related to skin health and hygiene. Utilizing a dermatologist-reviewed curriculum, the organization strives to educate college students and the community about skin health. Additionally, our aim is to foster a supportive and inclusive community, offering a space for Aggies to pursue their passions in dermatology while also contributing to bridging the skin health literacy gap.

Our Mission.

Outreach

Dermatological TAMU is dedicated to promoting skin health education within Texas A&M and the Bryan–College Station community. Since skin health is not included in the Texas public school curriculum, raising awareness locally is essential. Every individual’s skin is unique, and learning proper skincare routines and ways to protect the body’s largest organ can greatly improve overall health and well-being. Through education and outreach, Dermatological TAMU seeks to empower the community to take proactive steps toward lifelong skin wellness.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are critical components of dermatology, as access to dermatological care is often limited for certain populations–especially people of color, rural, and underserved communities. Furthermore, Dermatological TAMU aims to provide comprehensive and accessible education about skin care and skin diseases to all people, regardless of their personal backgrounds.
